In 2017 a local sculptor approached me about painting a mural near his studio in Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District. Given that I had never done anything like that before, I leapt at the chance and acted like it would be no sweat. The Crossroads is an incredible part of downtown KC, full of creativity and oddity. So, when he told me he wanted the mural to read, "Welcome to Art Town KC" below an enormous pair of shapely lips, I couldn't have imagined anything more perfect.
